Working on the tree house

This summer we had quite the exciting time. We built a ground tree house for Sam and Marie. Pretty much everyone was involved including me with the hardest job of keeping curious little fingers out of the way and out of the tools. The worst was trying to entertain while something much more interesting was going on outside.
But everyone had some fun. This is just some of the many steps in the process and yes the drill is unplugged.
The painting proved to be very exciting and luckily I ended up with some help in the entertainment area that day. Sam even learned a new sound during the whole process.

He still has the saddest face in the world

If this isn't enough to convince you then I'm warning you... this is just the start.

I mean really what's up with this? He did it as a baby and still does it now. I have to give him credit in that he was REALLY tired at this point but still. How can anyone make a face that sad? (and that's without being able to get the really good ones on camera)

Yes, he did get to sleep and he is his happy normal self 99% of the time but boy does it get you when he pulls this one out.

*Oh and for anyone who might be wondering, the quote was from Muppet Treasure Island.

Tired?

Yup, that's what I am right about now. Unfortunately I can't pull this off so cutely and I'd probably wake up with a few kinks in my neck. How does she do that? (can anyone name the movie?)

Curls

So much for posting frequently. In order to get going again I thought I'd post this...

Yup, something I always wanted and never got. At least she seems to be lucky enough to get curls! :) Or wait... maybe it's the those absolutely gorgeous eyes. Probably both. :)

The cake

We made our favorite cake for Sam's birthday and since I wasn't very creative we just gave him a small round version for himself.I'm not sure he quite got the whole blowing the candles out thing. He blew and the video we have is cute but we got mostly spit with a little bit of air. It was good that we had a cake just for him.
The best part was the definite pleasure he got in eating the cake. Unfortunately the cake didn't look so nice after he started eating it as expected. The next day when we opened the fridge and Sam gave a very sad "kaputt!" or broken and started crying. Not much later we looked at the pictures from his party and he did the same thing. I'm pretty sure it's not possible to keep a cake looking perfect after it's been attacked by an excited 2 year old.

8 Months

Wow!!! I really can't believe it's been 8 months since we added our little Marie Elouise to our family! She was a bit of a surprise but one of the best surprises in my life!

One day those happy beautiful blue eyes are going to enchant some guy and she will take off to find her happily ever after. For now I'm just going to enjoy my snuggles and the fun we have each day.
She is such a delight to have around and between her and Sam I have more smiles, laughs and insanity than I know what to do with every day.

I love you my little Marie!

Surprise!

Ok, so I think the frustration finally wore off. No, the internet situation isn't much better (although we are the only ones in the house using it now so hopefully it will be a bit better) but I finally came up with a plan to hopefully allow me to blog without going crazy so here it is...

I'm going to do short posts hopefully more frequently and sometimes with continued themes(ex I'll be doing Sam's birthday over a few days probably). They will have one possibly two pictures in them and you will be lucky if there is a video. So all the cute videos from Sam's birthday will have to wait for another day. Sorry! But here we go!

Happy Birthday Sam! :)

This was just so cute that I had to try. :)

This is from Thomas the Tank Engine, one of Sam's favorite trains, it's name is Toby. This is the shortest of the videos so I got it up with only an hour of waiting. There are more but this is the only one you get to enjoy. More pictures to come soon! :)

We love you Sam! Thank you for an awesome 2 years!
