What I love about Europe...

There are some things in life that just make you smile and this is one of them. It's amazing that in the U.S. you can drive 15 minutes and find a Walmart just about anywhere you are. However, I can now drive 15 minutes and find things like this. I love the way there is open fields surrounding the towns, and you can find castles and old history just about anywhere you go. The two bottom pictures were taken as we were driving to the castle. It's a little hard to see but the bottom picture has a castle on top of the hill.

Sam's first snow! :)

When we got here there was lots of sun even though it was a bit cold. However that changed while we were inside the museum part looking at all the old Roman stuff.

This is what it looked like when we came out and wanted to see the outdoors part. We thought we'd better get a picture before it all melted. Hoever the snow started up again pretty quickly.

All wrapped up

We didn't expect to have such cold weather when we got here. The first day was pretty nice but afterwards it got really cold and has been ever since. Arnold's mom went out and got Sam a coat, hat, scarf and mittens which he looks absolutely adorable in and has used on a daily basis ever since we got them. We also had to go buy him some shoes since the socks and slippers don't stay on his feet. He's still the cutest boy in all the land! :) I wish you could hear all the little giggles that go with the smiles.

Our first outing!

We had some good friends who came to visit and we took them to Aschaffenburg for our first outing. It has a really fun castle called Schloss Johannisburg which was built in 1605–1614 by Archbishop Schweikard von Kronberg. If you want to know some more fun information on it you can look it up on wikipedia. It was a really nice castle, almost more like a palace and was lots of fun to see. Walking around it made you feel like you needed to get all dressed up for a ball or special occasion of some sort. We also got to see a house called Pompejanum modeled after a house from Pompeii.


It was quite the windy and cold day so we had to get all bundled up. Sam was the cutest of course especially when he gives kisses! :)


Afterwards we went to Schönbusch Park. They have a fun maze which probably looks nicer in the summer. We raced to the finish and the girls won! Yea! The guys also had the baby and stroller but they are bigger, stronger and have longer legs right to walk faster with right!?! :) It would have been fun to see more while we were there but the cold weather, limited time, and tired baby ended the trip here.

Cutest little man ever

This is Sam in his Sunday suit for the first time! He's the most handsome little fellow I ever saw and is even good about wearing a tie as long as the vest is over it. We did however have a hard time getting him to hold still for the picture. He's the hardest thing in the world to get to hold still.

Our last look at Texas for a while

We left Texas looking like this with the most beautiful weather you could ever imagine. I guess even Texas wants us to come back to visit. :) Sam loves to be outside but wasn't so sure about the grass. Usually he loves to crawl and goes everywhere rather quickly for such a small guy but the grass brings on a whole new picture. I think he's definitely the cutest little guy I've ever seen!









We went on several bike rides with him before we left. At first he wasn't so sure about the whole thing but after a bit he liked it since he liked the outdoors. He probably prefers the drivers seat like he does in the car, but I don't think I'm quite ready for that quite yet. The sunglasses are cool though. :)

We moved to Beautiful Germany!

We really did it! We are here in Germany. The move was a bit crazy, but our stuff got packed and we are really here. As you can see, Sam helped us pack and even gave us a few ideas on how to take him with us. ;) He was so much fun playing in and being curious about all the bags and boxes. Now that I'm almost over the jetlag I'd like to get this up and going a bit better! Here are some pictures from the move. Begining, middle and end of it. :)

The Rodeo!

We went to the Rodeo since Sam and Arnold had never been. I think they had a great time. We got Sam a hat and shirt but no boots. Maybe next time we'll do the boots but for now we wouldnt be able to get them on him or keep them on if we tried. It ended up being a bit chilly and insanely windy outside so we had to find other ways to keep Sam warm and happy but it was definitely worth it.

Sam was really excited by all the lights the first night. He spent a lot of time on Dad's shoulders looking something like this.


Sam looked so cute in his hat. It makes you want to shout out a good HOWDY doesn't it. :)

This is a shot of the sheep for the mutton bustin. If you've never seen it before then you are really missing out. Sam got to stay warm and safe from the wind in Daddy's jacket.

After all the cow wrestling, bull riding and other events we got to see the famous Tim McGraw. (I think that's his name)


The most amazing thing we saw that evening was Sam fall asleep during the concert. It was soooo loud and we didn't survive the whole thing so we left early. Once again our little sleeping Sam ended up in Daddy's jacket making Arnold look 15 months pregnant! :)
