Funny kids

My kids are really funny. They do things all the time that just make me want to laugh. I usually do and sometimes I wish I hadn't especially with Sam because he's at that age where if he can make someone laugh he'll do it again, and again, and again...

This was one of those times. I looked over and there was this little head sitting there smiling where the sink should have been. It was funny at first and I laughed pretty good, but after a few minutes and a picture I decided we had to put an end to it, so we did. If nothing else it looked really awkward and I didn't want him breaking his neck where the sink should be and having to explain that to him later when he was older.

This one is pretty self explanatory. She was very hungry and kept saying it until I pulled out the camera. It always happens that way. I'm so glad I did pull it out because although I didn't get the "Ungie", I did get something much better.

My kids eat mold! How about yours?

Yup they eat it and LOVE it. It's kinda weird to me because it wasn't until I married Arnold that I was really introduced to eating mold. I know my Dad loves it but I never really wanted to eat it. It just didn't sound that good. So after Arnold begged and pleaded with me to try a little and kept doing it, I've slowly grown to enjoy a little mold here and there. I think my favorite is Arnold's favorite, Saint Agur. As long as I don't look at what I'm eating I'm fine and it tastes good. I just have to think of something else. These two little people, however, will probably love it there whole lives. Yummy moldy cheese. And if you don't believe me here is picture proof.
Eating mold before jam.

I know it may not look like she's enjoying it but it's one thing she will always eat... yummy mold!

*Just to clarify... Mold=blue cheese. I'm not completely crazy, I promise.

Still climbing... One of these days he'll reach the top!

The top of what I'm not sure but he's a go getter and nothing stops him. He's really good at getting on chairs and tables and using them to get other things that I don't want him to get. This however is one table I don't mind so much.

This is one of his latest adventures. I was quite impressed with his speed since he was wearing bulky clothing but like I said, nothing stops him when he's determined. It's so fun to hear the laughter that usually accompanies the climbing and conquering of yet another new mountain. Unfortunately that didn't get captured but you get the smile. :)

Funny girl

Our cute little gal is so funny! She loves to scrunch up her nose whenever she smiles. I think I have a million pictures like this but these are some of the more recent ones.

And to finish off, an update on Marie. Now that she is 1, she is:

-Running...yes, now I have 2 keeping me on my toes.
-has a huge vocabulary... Things like: First and most important... Ungie (hungry), all done (when she's not Ungie any more), Appy buh Day (happy birthday), Uh you (I love you), appuh (apple), cracker(not sure how to write out that one), Mommy, Daddy, Hi, Bye, Meow (she loves cats!), makes several other animal noises, and a bunch of other words I can't think of at the moment.
-loves to dance
-loves to sing
-loves to giggle
-loves playing with her brother (or destroying everything he builds)
-loves getting into everything
-She is the best giver of hugs and kisses ever!

Basically to sum up she's a JOY to have around!

One more for your enjoyment. She's a cougar fan!

My hair...

My hair is really super boring. It's straight and never does anything. For my wedding I decided to definitely do a practice run on my hair since I knew no matter how professional the person doing it was they would be shocked at how little my hair cooperates/does. And she was. It was pretty funny. To sum up my hair... If you put it up, it falls out. If you curl it, it goes straight (I've even had it not accept a perm) Bed head... I don't know if I've ever actually had it until Monday.

I don't know if you can see it in either picture, but my hair is sticking out funny in the front and all funny in the back too.

Now I know that these don't look like much but for me this is amazing. I'll spare you all the details of how this came to be but just realize that these pictures were taken quite a while after the fact (which is why I'm almost smiling and don't look like I'm on my death bed). My hair in all of it's amazing ability to do nothing looked like this after plenty of time to calm down, and yes that is what it did, calm down. I wish I'd taken a picture sooner because it really was quite amazing.

*Now that the holidays are over and we are all feeling better (hopefully) I hope to post again 3ish times a week like I was previously. So come back often or you'll get behind! :)

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

We had a wonderful Christmas this year. It was quiet and pretty uneventful. On the 24th the Madsens came over for dinner and then we did the Austrian Christmas with the Christkind bringing everything. It was so fun and relaxing. Hopefully they enjoyed it as much as we did. I'm pretty sure Sam and Marie enjoyed all the presents.
Since it was Christmas we decided to do a little manger scene. Anyone who has dealt with kids for any reasonable amount of time will guess that these pictures all happened with in a min, in fact I think it might have been more in the 30 second range. It was still fun to try. Maybe it will work better next year.

As for New Years Eve... Well it was fun, short and unfortunately I don't have any pictures. To sum up...

We did go to dinner (Raclette) at some friends house which was really fun. We went home early due to tired babies and we were all in bed before 11. Yea, I know pretty boring but we were up all night the night before so we had already had our late night fun. Arnold and I did wake up and say Happy New Year with the fireworks but I'm afraid that was about it. It was good though and I'm excited for this new year and all the Many adventures we will be having. :)

Marie's Birthday Part 2

The birthday celebrations continued on Saturday when Arnold would be home to enjoy them. We basically did the cake part on Saturday. It's always funny to me to watch a 1 year old try to figure out what to do with a cake that's put in front of them.

Arnold was great with the encouragement and eventually she was willing to try it. After a few little tastes we finally decided it was time to just dump a piece on her plate and give some to our little Sam who was getting quite anxious for his piece.

Marie in the end finished off 2 whole pieces of cake. Once she got going it was fun to watch her devour what we put in front of her. After the second piece she used her fingers to basically lick off the tray. I didn't get a picture of it in the end but it was basically clean.
