Name that tune...

Ok, so anyone have any guesses at what this tune is. Sam sings it all the time and it's his favorite. I'm not really sure why but he loves it. Every time we take a walk at some point he will sing this. Since that is the guaranteed place he will sing it, that's when I got the video. I highly recommend NOT watching the video if you get motion sickness because we didn't video for quality videoing, but you should definitely listen cause it's so cute.

Food, it is what is for dinner

Sometimes a man has to do, what a man has to do.

P.S. some people wondered why I posted this on the blog. The above image is a cookbook, for men. I don't have it, I have not used it, but I think the concept is hillarious. The book contains simple recipes which all use standard, easy to find products which actually look like things you can find in the grocery store, not nebulous items like "wheat" or "sifted , well, anything sifted...." It is more like: "buy the following can of campell's tomato soup. Here is a picture of a can. etc. "

shared items

on the right hand you now can see items that I have shared via my google reader account.  They are articles of interest, at least to me.  Possibly you will find them interesting also.

A little late but here is Easter

Easter was a little crazy with all the visitors but I have the cutest kids ever and the most wonderful husband in the world so it turned out great! Marie spent almost the whole egg hunt looking at her egg and basket. You can't tell here but she actually seemed to enjoy trying to get the egg quite a bit

Sam had all sorts of fun finding eggs. I'm not sure he really caught on and as you can see he wasn't really sure what to do with them when he got them. This is an attempt to eat the egg. He quickly decided the shell didn't taste too good and put it in his basket.

Over all he was pretty excited to find the eggs. This poor egg got thrown excitedly after it was found.

A car or an egg...which is better? I think he's going to go for the car for the rest of his life. He's always trying to get in the drivers seat when ever we go somewhere. 16 here we come...

Overall the egg hunt was a great success. I think the chocolate guckies (chicks that looked like ducks to him) were the favorite but he did have fun running around the yard as usual and in the end throwing most of the eggs. Lucky for us there were only 6 so we were able to eat them pretty quickly.

We came back in afterwards and Sam had a great time playing with his present and asking for more chocolate. I think he likes chocolate more than I do and that's pretty hard to do.

I just love this picture of Marie. She wasn't quite sure what to do with the egg and she's just so cute in her Easter dress.

This is also just a perfect little picture of Sam. He's almost always smiling and happy and here he is content as can be with chocolate smeared on his face and a train in his hand. What more could you want in life?

Finally, here is a random video from the day. Sam getting to open his present after he found it. If you listen you can here the excited Choo choo toward the end. :)

Trains

Sam loves trains....
Wait...let me say it more like I should. SAM LOVES TRAINS.
Oh wait... one more try...

SAM LOVES TRAINS!

Ok that's better.

So for Arnold's 30th birthday we went to a nearby train museum run by amateurs but nicely done. This is Sam seeing the trains for the first time. He was so excited and I wish I would have gotten a video of him because it was so cute. Lots of WOWs were said that day.

Daddy, Sam and some trains. As you can see Sam wanted to climb all of them.

Yet another excited face from Sam.
And yes, he did want to climb ALL of them. That was probably the hardest part of the trip.

Can you find a more happy face than a little boy on a cool train.

We got to go inside one of the trains and see how they work. Arnold got to do all the translating so you can see that in the next picture. Sam is the best though. I don't think there was ever a lack of excitement except when he didn't get to climb all over them.

And finally the group. Dan came all the way from the US just to say Happy Birthday to Arnold! How nice! ;)

This video is of the Yaga Choo Choo. Arnold pulled it out finally since Sam found the cardboard box with the picture and has been asking for it for the last month. It looks like even Marie is going to like trains and legos. I think she was watching it go round and round for about 5-10 minutes.

Dancing moose or something like that :)

I guess I've got a little dancer to be. Maybe one day I'll find the picture of me eating ice cream in this position and post that with it but for now just know that this was how I spent a lot of time before I had kids. Not so much anymore. Eating of the toes...not sure about that one but she does it all the time and it must be hereditary since Sam did and does it too. Maybe I'll get one of the two of them eating toes together sometime.
And for the final show...Rocking Moose is back!!! :) We've been looking for the missing piece for almost a year now and now that we are unpacking EVERYTHING we finally found it! Yea for the rocking moose! :)

Sam and Arnold Artwork

Sam and I have been working for quite a while on a picture of some trains.  We have had a lot of fun drawing this together.  He really enjoys "Choo Choos" and so this was a great father-son bonding time.

Also, for those doubting my sanity and or fearing the imminent onset of a mid life crisis due to my previous post: doubt not, fear not.
